First Woman in the NFL
StubHub’s mission is to bring the joy of sports to everyone, no matter the barrier. So when we decided to attend the NFL Draft, we saw a huge opportunity to bring that promise to life in a new way that could reverberate far outside of the bounds of football.
The launch of StubHub’s first brand activation is on hold until after the Coronavirus epidemic is over, but here is a sneak peak:
The Challenge
No woman has ever been drafted into the NFL. Not because they do not have the skill, but because they are forbidden from entering the draft.
The Solution
Partner with Carli Lloyd. She is not only the captain of the US Women’s Soccer team, but can drill a 55 yard field goal!
Because the Draft is closed to women, build our own 100 yard stage - across the street from theirs on the Las Vegas strip.
Show the world that women have the skill to kick in the NFL by having Carli drill NFL distance field goals live during the first round of the NFL Draft. And stream the whole thing live on ESPN.
More than a single day
While proving to the world that women have the skill to play in the NFL is awesome. To really change the game, young girls have to know they belong in the sport. So on our second day at the Draft, we converted the field to a girl’s kicking camp. Carli and Adam Venturi hosted middle and high school girls from all over the country to teach and encourage their football talent.
